Reversing Falls Sanctuary

What if hope can sometimes keep us stuck—waiting for rescue, the perfect technological fix, or change without pain? In this month's Sacred Imagination discussion, we’ll explore hope, fear, and what it means to meet a climate-changed world without turning away or waiting for certainty.

Abandon Hope? No, really—it might be a good thing.

About the event

Rather than asking whether we should be optimistic or pessimistic, we’ll consider what happens when we relinquish the expectation that uncertainty and pain can somehow be eliminated. Each gathering begins with a poem and a short reading, encountered together as gateways into reflection and conversation.

What spiritual practices help us remain present to a suffering world and still capable of responding? What becomes possible when we return to what is available now—this place, one another, and our capacity for care?

Come once or come every month. No homework or advance reading is required; we encounter the poem and reading together. Any faith tradition, or none—all are welcome.
