FIBER ART SALON #2

At this second session of the Fiber Art Salon we will explore wrapping techniques to create a fully 3 dimensional creature. Our materials will be lots of recycled fabric or old clothing, yarns, strings, wire, and interesting bits of this and that.

Prior to this session you might want to look at photos of animals (including humans), birds, insects, or fish to find one that intrigues you for its  anatomy, movement, coloration or pattern of fur, feather or scales.  Your study might inspire you to make a realistic recreation of it in fiber materials. Or you might create a creature that springs fresh from your imagination. It could even evolve to be a cross-specie smash-up.

All materials will be provided but if you have something special such as a relative’s favorite flannel shirt, that could be embedded into the body or be part of the wrapping material of your creature and make a great memento.

Bring along a bag lunch.
