About the event

Steel Drum Benefit for Climate Action Net

On Monday, August 28, Flash! in the Pans steel drum band will perform at the

Blue Hill Town Park from 7:30-9 p.m. with a portion of the gate proceeds to

benefit Climate Action Net and Reversing Falls Sanctuary. The performance is

geared for all ages, with lively dance music designed to get the crowd on their

feet. Refreshments will be available. In the event of rain, the performance will be

moved to the GSA cafeteria.

Climate Action Net (CAN) has a decade long history of bringing valuable climate

science and initiatives to the attention of the public. The most public face of CAN

can be seen at the sign-rally every Saturday at noon near Blue Hill Town Hall. CAN

also conducts an active youth program involving the GSA and DIS eco-clubs which

includes the appointment of high school climate interns who receive stipends. All

donors at the concert will receive note cards featuring photos of original paintings

by local 8 th grade students created upon discovering the danger of climate change

for their future.
