Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Celebration

Many cultures believe that ceremony is the way we remember to remember. It is in this spirit that we at RFS will once again celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 15th at 4 pm.  The gathering allows us to dedicate our time and our attention to honor his prophetic words, his courageous actions, and his lasting legacy.  Rob Shetterly will also be sharing the stories of several persons whose portraits he has painted for his Americans Who Tell the Truth series, with a focus on the power of courage to create change in our broken world.  Rob will be unveiling the portrait of John Alston at Swarthmore College on the weekend of January 13th – founder and director of the Chester Children’s Chorus.  This inspiring story will also be told at the RFS memorial celebration!
