Spring Equinox Celebration

This year’s Spring Equinox falls on March 20th, signaling the return of the light, warmer temperatures, blooming flowers, song birds, busy bees and colorful butterflies.  At Reversing Falls Sanctuary, we celebrate this Earth feast by processing from the Sanctuary to the Bagaduce River where we bring our burdens from the dark winter and place them in our firepit.

We ask that you bring a list of what you would like to leave behind in the darkness: what burdens, grief or wounds that you carry personally or collectively that you would like to see transformed. We will place these lists in an envelope and offer them to the bonfire at the River’s edge.

We will also reflect on whatever intentions or desires that we wish to manifest in the new Season, what we hope to bring into the expanding light of Spring. How will we individually and collectively replace the old stories no longer needed in order to bring energy and creativity for new stories and opportunities to emerge?

Please dress festively and bring music and noisemakers to awaken the River spirits.  Bobby Cleveland will be offering his gift of music to the ritual and to the River.

We will gather at the Sanctuary at 4pm for a short meditation to center us and then process to the River where a fire will be awaiting us.  Equal hours of light and dark – something surely to celebrate!
