Stitching Up A Raveled World; a Currents Free Art Workshop

Stitching Up A Raveled World , to be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 9-4 (snow date 2/5/22) at Reversing Falls Sanctuary, 818 Bagaduce Rd., Brooksville, ME., is now open for registration.

This workshop is designed to introduce new stitchers to the many tools and

techniques in the stitching universe and experienced stitchers to a new trick or two that might expand their already diverse stitch vocabulary. Demonstrations will be given in needle felting, making yarn with a drop spindle, handmade cordage, fabric beads, scrap piece fabrics, and various stitching techniques through out the day by Daksha Baumann, a long-time manipulator of all sorts of fibers and fabrics. You might work with new or vintage fabrics, handmade fabric bases, needle-felted blanks, or personal clothing needing repair or refashioning. Class participants will be able to sample them all or explore wherever and with whatever their interest takes them. All materials will be provided.

We will be following Maine CDC guidelines and limit class sizes to 8 students for social distancing purposes. All class participants and instructors must be fully vaccinated and wear KN95 masks which will be provided by RFS at the beginning of the class. The sanctuary also has a new air purifier that filters the air and helps keep us safe.
